What is Buzzeromatic?
Buzzeromatic is a robot doorman from the future that allows you to control who gets in and who stays out.
Dashboard - My Front Door
When you first sign in to Buzzeromatic, you'll find yourself at "My Front Door". This page shows you a summary of the activity at your door, and your active passcodes. By clicking one of the items listed below, you can view and edit the contents of each setting or report.

  • Doormails - Doormails are messages left by your visitors if they are unable to get into the building and when Buzzeromatic can't locate you.
  • Buzzes - Buzzes are a log of failed and successful entries using passcodes.
  • Passcodes - Passcodes allow users to enter a 4-6 digit code to be authenticated and enter your building without you having to answer the phone.
My Account
You'll find a few great pieces of information in this getting started guid, and a few settings that help you customize your front door buzzer.

  • My Buzzer's Number - The buzzer system at many modern apartments, condos, and co-ops rely on using the tenants phone to buzz visitors into the building. When you move in, the landlord will ask for your phone number, and then program the entry system to call that number when your unit is buzzed. Buzzer-o-matic acts as an intermediary to this process. Buzzer-o-matic will provide you a phone number-the number listed as "My Buzzer's Number"- and this is the number that you will provide to your landlord. When when someone arrives at your home, and buzzes your unit, the entry system will call the Buzzer-o-matic number. Buzzer-o-matic will then either call you (on the phone number(s) you enter on this site, or ask the guest for a passcode
  • My Info - You'll notice the contact information you provided us with during registration is on the right. You can update this information any time
  • Change My Password - If you ever want to change your password, you can do it here
  • Change How My Buzzer Behaves - These settings define the behavior of your buzzer
  • Manual Buzzing - Clicking edit will allow you to add/edit phone numbers that the system will call. Buzzeromatic will call each number in the list until it finds someone to manually buzz the guest in. If it doesn't fine you or someone, it will prompt the visitor to leave a doormail at the front door. The default is to always attempt to call you if a passcode fails, or if passcodes are not enabled
  • Enable Passcode Entry - If this is un-checked, Buzzeromatic will always call the numbers found in Manual Buzzing. Default is checked, where passcodes are enabled
  • Enable Doormail - If this is un-checked, Buzzeromatic will not try and intercept the call before it goes to the called number's voicemail. To ensure that Buzzeromatic intercepts the voicemail if you do not answer, please read this brief tutorial on how to enable conditional call-forwarding with your telephone company
  • Door Unlock Digit - Select the digit you would normally press when buzzing someone in to your building
Passcodes
A passcode is a secret 4-6 digit code that you can assign to frequent visitors. If you have passcodes enabled in My Settings, users will be prompted to enter a secret code when they buzz your door. Additionally, if you choose to restrict the time that the code is valid, you can setup a time frame which the code is valid.

To create a new passcode, click the New button on the top of the page. This will pop up a window that asks for the code. Enter a 4-6 digit passcode and give it a name that you can associate it to a person, and click Create.

The next window allows you to add a time restriction to the new passcode. The default is to allow the passcode entry for 24 hours, from Midnight to Midnight every day. If you want to restrict access, simply move the slider from left to right, and then move the entire slider to the time frame you wish to allow access. Time is measured in intervals of hours. As you can see below, we've restricted access to the passcode created above from 12pm - 3pm.

Once you have set your time restrictions, if there are any, click Save.

You can always edit a passcode by clicking the name of the passcode, or adjust the times it is valid by clicking "Change the time of day this passcode is valid". If you want to delete a passcode, simply click the X button to the right of the passcode. Note: If you delete a passcode, it is permanently deleted from your account, but don't worry, you can always re-create the same one.
Calls
To view all the successful and unsuccessful buzzes from your door, you can view the Calls log. If you like to keep this fresh, simply click the X to the right of the log entry to delete it.

Doormail
Buzzeromatic allows your visitors to leave messages at your door, instead of your telephone's voice mail. If a visitor leaves a doormail for you, simply click the play button to hear the message. You can keep doormail stored, or delete them as your see fit. To allow your normal telephone voicemail to be ignored and to allow visitors to leave doormail, follow this FAQ to enable conditional call-forwarding.

We are considering doormail transcription as a service, if you are interested please email us here
