What is Buzzeromatic?
Buzzeromatic is the worlds first virtual door man. It makes your apartment buzzer smarter and more flexible - using only your phone, no hardward required. Once you subscribe, and set up your door buzzer, you can customize how your buzzer behaves – you can set up passwords for folks to let themselves in with, or have it call a bunch of numbers until it finds you, or both. You can also let people leave voicemails at the door, if all else fails – so for instance, the UPS guy can just leave a message to tell you when he’ll be coming back if you miss him the first time. You can customize all of the behavior from the web interface anytime, and we’ve got an iPhone app in the hopper that’ll have all the same functionality baked in – letting you make a new door password for someone while you’re standing there with them, etc.
Who can use Buzzeromatic?
Anyone who lives or works in a building where the front door is controlled by a telephone controlled entry intercom.
Who CAN'T use Buzzeromatic?
Anyone who doesn't have a telephone controlled entry intercom. We're planning to support folks without intercom entry systems in the future. You can send us your e-mail address if your're interested and we'll be in touch.
How do I know if I have a telephone controlled entry intercom?
You probably know if you do. But, if you don't, its the type of system that is programmed to call the phone number you provided your landlord or building manager, when someone buzzes you from the intercom. In other words, when someone buzzes you from the front door, you get a phone call and press a button to let them in.
What do I have to do to use Buzzeromatic?
Well, the first thing to do is register for an account. The second, most critical task, is to tell your landlord you need to change the contact phone number that is currently programmed in the intercom with the one we provide you with. Then all you have to do is setup the rules and conditions in your settings page.
How does it work?
That is a fairly technical question. The simple answer is that Buzzeromatic acts as a forwarding agent from the intercom to our servers. Our technology handles the call, based on the rules and conditions you establish with us.
I'm a nerd, I need to know how you guys do this!?
In order to maintain the pinky swear we made with ourselves regarding our secret sauces, we can't disclose everything we are doing. But, what we can tell you is that we use Twilio as our telephony provider, they are enormously helpful with some of the heavy lifting.
Do I still need a cell phone or landline?
Depends on if you need a phone to make/receive calls.
What about Security?
The people who built Buzzeromatic are semi paranoid about security and privacy. Therefore, we've taken some steps to ensure your information and front door are safe. For security purposes, we can't disclose all of our safe measures, however we can disclose a few: We never store your credit card information We encrypt all passwords and door entry codes We never share any information with 3rd parties
Can you give me a phone number in my area code?
Of Course! If we can't we'll give you a toll-free number until a local phone number becomes available.
Do you have a trial?
At this time, we do not offer a free trial. You may cancel your account at any time.
This is a Beta, why would I pay?
Beta is both a technical and legal term. Our focus right now is to provide you with 100% quality service. We have tested the service thoroughly, and are confident the service will deliver as we describe. However, we are taking the feedback we receive from you and shaping Buzzeromatic based on the feedback we receive. Beta also reserves us the right to allow only a certain amount of customers in at a time.
Can you, or anyone open my door, without my knowledge?
No. Buzzeromatic requires someone to be at your front door. In other words, we cannot call your door and initiate entry, someone has to buzz you from the door.
Can I get service in Canada?
Yes.
